With Dee Gordon's Emergence, What's Left For Rafael Furcal?

(CBS) -- It looks like it's the end of the road for the Dodgers and Rafael Furcal.

The 33-year-old is roughly 530 At-Bats away from having his $12 million option for next season automatically exercised. --  And he's still a few more weeks away from attempting to return from his latest injury (oblique).

It's expected that once Furcal is activated from the disabled list, he will step back into the role as the starting SS, despite the buzz rookie Dee Gordon is creating.  The reason? Trade Value.

Furcal could fetch something in a trade at the non-waiver deadline, paving the way for Gordon's full-time gig as the Dodgers Shortstop.
