Chrysler Recalls More Than 11,000 Vehicles
DETROIT (CBS) — Chrysler is recalling more than 11,000 vehicles because of faulty steering columns.
According to the automaker, the steering column in some of the vehicles might be missing a pivot rivet which can decrease the effectiveness of the safety system.
The recalls include the following models made between April and May of this year: the Chrysler 200, Town and Country minivan, the Dodge Avenger, Caliber, the Dodge Caravan, Journey and Nitro SUVs, the Jeep Compass, the Jeep Liberty, Patriot and Wrangler SUVs.
Dealers can check and fix the problem at no charge. Chrysler says that the recall is a precaution and that there have been no crashes reported. Customers are encouraged to visit safercar.gov for more information.
