LOS ANGELES (KNX1070) — Supporters of Proposition 8 are expected to go before a judge Monday and ask him to overturn the ruling made by Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn R. Walker.

CBS Chief Legal Analyst Andrew Cohen told KNX 1070’s Ed Mertz that proponents of the measure are expected to ask Judge James Ware for a new trial, which Cohen predicts will be denied.

Supporters of the ban on gay marriage believe Judge Walker should have disclosed his same-sex orientation and the fact that he was in a long-term relationship prior to his ruling.

“I think he will deny the motion and I think he tell supporters of Proposition 8 that their best chance to get out from under Judge Walker’s ruling is not by attacking Judge Walker, but rather by the appeal that’s going go to the 9th Circuit and then up the ladder to Washington,” he added.

That is like paying the fox to guard the hen house when is it that one old frat Judge can overturn the will of the people.

True, but hopefully the judge this time might not be a pole smoker.

  2. Ron says:

It is UNBELIEVABLE that a JUDGE is able to sidestep such a huge CONFLICT of INTEREST and that NO other judges, lawyers, legislators speak out against this INJUSTICE.

    Talk about CORRUPTION.

Marriage should only be between a woman and a man and only until you get tired of him, then on to the next and the next and the next…well, you get the idea. This serial monogamy isn’t as easy as you think; it’s not like the next guy can move right in before you get rid of the last one, but, I’d do it all again. Keep marriage sacred so when I get reincarnated, the man pool won’t be too decimated.

    Kindest regards,
