Police Sgt. Frank Barron tells the Los Angeles Times that 44-year-old Robin Grant of Modesto was alive and breathing when taken to a hospital, but not responsive to questions.
Barron says paper covered the vehicle’s windows and some type of liquid was oozing from the truck’s cab when officers arrived Friday afternoon.
A bomb squad search of the truck led to the closure of nearby freeways, backing up traffic for miles.
Barron says the incident is still under investigation and it’s not known whether Grant will face any charges.
Investigators also are trying to determine the source of the liquid.
