Family Offers $1 To Buy Eatery From Slain Wife Of 'Survivor' Producer

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The sister of the slain wife of "Survivor" producer Bruce Beresford Redman wants a judge to approve her offer to buy her sister's Brazilian restaurant for one dollar.

Carla Burgos, the sister of Monica Beresford Redman, claims her late sibling's business is in "dire financial shape" and is no longer profitable, RadarOnline reported Tuesday.

The Westside eatery Zabumba is currently being operated and managed by Burgos and her other sister, Jeane, after Monica was found dead in Cancun in April 2010.

A filing in Los Angeles County Superior Court claims that "despite the petitioners tireless efforts, Zabumba is not profitable and continues to lose money. Petitioners allege that the restaurant has zero value."

The judge is expected to rule on the request in June.

Bruce Beresford Redman is currently in custody at the Men's Central Jail in downtown L.A. while awaiting the extradition process to Cancun set to begin in July.
