Dying Arleta Boy, 14, Gets His Wish To Meet His Favorite People

ARLETA (CBS) — When he was 15-months-old,  Kyle Rodas was diagnosed with leukemia.

Always a fighter, he beat leukemia. By age three leukemia stopped being a factor in his daily life.

But now, at 14, he has developed inoperable and malignant brain tumors. He was told this past October that he had, at best, two months to live.

Close friends of his family say Rodas now is in his declining days.  He is unable to walk or talk. He is in constant pain. He's lost his eyesight and his voice. He told his parents, he no longer wants to live.

The Make A Wish foundation already granted him a wish 11 years ago.

So, it is friends and family who are now rallying to give Rodas his last wish: Before he lost his sight and voice, he wrote out a list of people he wanted to meet.

Today, the fighter in Rodas got to meet his favorite fighter.

And as KCAL9's Stephanie Abrams reports, the 14-year-old lit up when he got to meet two-time middleweight boxing champion Sergio Martinez Tuesday afternoon. And he's also gotten a phone call from rocker Ozzy Osbourne.

Friends have set up an account to help the Rodas family. Medical bills put the family about $50,000 in debt and they are in danger of losing their home.
