Chart-Topper Adele Nixes LA Dates Due To Laryngitis
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Chart-topper Adele won't be making her Los Angeles appearances this week after canceling the rest of her North American tour due to laryngitis.
In all, 10 shows – including a Monday concert at the Greek Theater and a Thursday appearance at the Hollywood Palladium -- have been canceled after a Los Angeles doctor told the popular British singer that she needed to rest her voice, Columbia Records reports.
Initially, the 23-year-old canceled five shows, but planned to resume her tour in San Francisco Friday until she got orders to rest.
A Wednesday show in San Diego has also been canceled.
Her album "21" has been the best-selling record for nine weeks running and her single "Rolling in the Deep," is No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.
No new dates have been announced yet.
