American Heart Association, Cedars-Sinai Team To Raise Awareness For CPR Week

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — June 1-June 7 is officially CPR week. And to raise awareness about this important week, the American Heart Association and Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute have teamed up to teach Los Angeles residents how to save lives.

High school students, city employees and city officials attended a City Hall gathering Monday morning to kick off the week. They were also joined by someone whose life was saved by CPR.

Authorities there demonstrated the hands-only technique. By knowing the classic Bee Gees song "Stayin' Alive," you could save a life.

For more, go to the American Heart Association Web site. There you will find a live demonstration on hands-only CPR.
