High School Teacher Snagged In Drug Date Sting

CAMARILLO (AP) — Ventura County Sherriff's officials have arrested a 29-year-old high school teacher who brought pot to a date at a motel room with an undercover deputy.

Officials said Monday that Ashrof Boulos Hindi was snagged by an investigator who was looking into online drug deals.

The investigator contacted Hindi using the Craigslist website by posing as a date-seeking female. The department says Hindi sought to entice the investigator with drugs and alcohol.

When he arrived Saturday at a Motel 6 in Camarillo, deputies awaiting him found he had a small amount of marijuana. A small amount of cocaine was found in his Los Angeles County home.

Hindi was arrested on suspicion of transporting and possessing drugs and is being held on $50,000 bail.

Directory assistance had no telephone listing for Hindi.
