Brown should sell the whole state to Texas. Perry would have it ship shape and productive in no time.

If it was a republican who made the decision, he would have hidden the sell, then sold it to hisown company for little to nothing so they can then resell the land for a higher profit. And in the meantime he would use the homes to hide his affairs and home their love children.

I think it was the Honest, Truthful, Republican-Arnold Schwarzenegger, that came up with the idea of selling off the State’s property. Republicans are as hypocritical as could be. They remind me of going to church.

An earlier story reported that California is closing down its state parks system because of the budget situation. Now they are selling off conservation reserve properties. So, they have given up their state parks and now are sacrificing their environmental principles in order to maintain their illegal aliens in the style to which they’ve become accustomed. Now supporting illegals, schooling their kids kids, providing free health care, etc. trumps all other priorities in California, including environmentalism. It’s come to this.

I don’t agree with the PP’s. Barbra Streisand has not shown anything other than class through this. This is donated property, for Pete’s sake. No matter how it is used, the state had an asset it would not otherwise becuase of Barbra.

Did this property that the liberal leftist democrat Streisand donated, come from the massive fortune she made under her antagonist; the truly conservative Republican, President Ronald Reagan?

Open land is important and necessary to the eco-systems that surround our urban and suburban boundaries. The selling off of land is extremely concerning to our communities and environment. This was donated land to a Conservancy organization and that sets precedents in legal action. Once an open space is gone it is difficult to reclaim it. Not impossible but the complexities are significant.

The governor has made a good decision. Ms Streisand supports that decision. That is probably in part because the state took it saying they would use it for what she asked them to and then just moved some state employees into the swank digs where they have been fo almost 20 years. Now, they are outed for using state property inappropriately and it’s sale could certainly go towards stemming red ink. It doesn’t matter what your political affiliation is: this is a good decision and a good step in the right direction towards unravelling the nightmare of state waste.

Well, Babs, maybe you should have voted Republican. Perhaps you don’t recall, but 30 years ago, when Brown was the governor of California, he left the state in and absolute shambles. His bad, stupid decisions 30 years ago lead us to this place now. And no, the Governator was NOT a Republican, so let’s not go there.
