Lohan Begins Serving House Arrest In Theft Case

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Lindsay Lohan surrendered to authorities early Thursday morning to being serving time under home detention rather than going to jail.

KNX 1070’s John Brooks reports.

Lohan, 24, was booked and fitted for with an electronic monitoring ankle bracelet around 5 a.m., according to a Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department news release. She was later released to begin serving more than a month under house arrest, ending on June 29.

In April, Lohan pled no contest to a misdemeanor theft charge and was found to be in violation of her probation stemming from a 2007 drunken driving case.

No new mug shot was taken.

    A month under house arrest.
Why not add a few trips to Disneyland while thay are at it ?
Well folks, here is ANOTHER case of the best justice that money can buy !

    1. Louis says:

Don’t Forget Magic Mountain, Sea World and Magic Knotts’s Berry Farm might as well add that in too. Oh Add the fast Pass in that also so they will not have to wait in along line.

    2. Saber 1 says:

I would toss her salad and munch her carpet. Then give it to her hard and fast.

  2. El Chepo says:

Poor baby! She has to spend one whole month in that mansion in who knows where the Hollywood Hills or Brentwood.

Welcome to Hollywood where celebs. get away with anything including murder (O.J.). – What a joke!!

    1. diosdado1001 says:

I am with you. Look at the poor babe. Shee looks so inocent that nobody believes she’s been on trouble for so long and still manages to get away. She knows how to manipulate Justice as long as she get money.

  3. diosdado1001 says:

Besides the electronic monitoring ankle bracelet, she should also wear the neckless she stole. Money bought her just house arrest, not like the other folks in jail for stealing a chocolate bar.

  4. The Mad Man says:

And after all the outcry, nothing was done about this judges decision. I didn’t read anything about the woman’s prisons being overcrowded. Agreed…the best case of justice that money can buy!

  5. TT says:

i hate to differ with you all – but at least if she is at home on detention, then we dont have to pay for her to be in jail…. Dont have to pay for guards to mind her, dont have to pay to fend the press off at the jail, not paying for her food or medical…. sorry but this works for me ….

    1. Louis says:

I rather pay for her being in Jail, because that will change you and make you think twice the next time, she does not know what incarrceration feels like, I would be more then Happy to pay my tax dollars just to see her do time in jail.

  6. ASDASDAS says:

MORE THAN A MONTH UNDER HOUSE ARREST?!?!? THAT’S TO HARSH PEOPLE!!!

  7. Ozzy says:

If this was me and you, we wouldn’t be wearing an ankle bracelet and staying in home detention, we would be serving time at LA county Jail wearing Blue jump suits eating peanut butter sandwiches and artificial cool-aid watching the rats run underneath the beds…

Must be nice for rich celebrities who can pay for their crimes

    1. Louis says:

So True Ozzy, So True you hit that right on the button.

  8. wayne says:

lohan can get away with anything. what a can say. anthing she wants she gets

  9. Curtis says:

what the hell is wrong with the judges in the California Courts these days. The judge in Lindsay’s case dropped the Felony charge to a misdemeanor for a theft of a $2,500 item. I thought anything ocer $300 or $400 was an immediate felony. THAT THE C)(*AEW&T)YWE law judge. How can he drop it, when she was already on Probation and that lapsed too. She should of immediately been put in jail. That’s what would of happened to anyone else in this state. What is she so special? Just because she is a so called celebrity. You can’t even call her that anymore. What was the last successful thing she was in? I don;t even remember.

And what is this saying to the hundreds of other girls or woman who will unfortunately follow in her footsteps and don’t get the same treatment. I would sue the court and the entire justice system for equal sentencing that Loahn got.

This is showing the young girls coming up that they can steal whatever they want from jewerly and clothes stores and get away with just a misdemeanor on their record and not go to jail, but get to stay home under house arrest.

These girls don’t have million dollar homes or condo to do home arrest like Lohan does. How is this punishment

    1. Shirley says:

      Well put!!
