Fans Can Treat Their 'Dodger Dogs' To Fun, Contests At 'Bark In The Park'


ELYSIAN PARK (CBS) — Fans can bring their canine friends along to "Bark In The Park" at Dodger Stadium Saturday, where organizers will pamper your pooch with games, treats and contests.

The fun begins at 5:10 p.m. with a "Pup Rally" in parking lot G, where each pup and its owner will receive a goodie bag.

Owners can enter their dog in several contests, including "biggest dog", "smallest dog", "dog that shows most Dodger spirit" and "dog that looks most like Tillman".

Following the rally, fans can parade around the warning track of the field with their prized pups.

At 7:10 p.m. fans and their pooches take to their seats as the Dodgers play the Florida Marlins.

Tickets for owners and dogs each run $30. The Dodgers will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Los Angeles.

Organizers ask that before you go to be sure to do the following:

-- purchase tickets for yourself and your dog IN ADVANCE (tickets will not be sold the day of)
-- bring a copy of a current rabies vaccination document from a licensed veterinarian
-- have your dog wear an identification tag to the game and be accompanied by someone 18 years of age or older
-- have each person in your group print and sign a waiver prior to arrival at the ballpark to ensure smooth check-in
-- only bring dogs 6 months or older and BUY them their own ticket

NOTE: IF YOU PURCHASE TICKETS FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR DOG BUT DO NOT PROVIDE THE PROPER DOCUMENTATION FOR YOUR DOG YOU WILL BE DENIED ADMISSION TO "BARK IN THE PARK".
