Missing Norcal Baby Found Safe In El Monte

KNIGHTSEN (AP) — Authorities say a four-month-old girl who was reported missing by her parents from their Contra Costa County home has been found safe in Southern California.

Contra Costa County Sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee said sheriff's detectives have traveled to El Monte and recovered Ramy Amadea Gallego.

Investigators are still trying to determine how Gallego apparently disappeared from her bassinet at her parents' home in Knightsen sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

The girl's mother told authorities she put her daughter to bed Saturday around 10 p.m. The girl was apparently gone when she checked on her around 6 a.m. the next morning.

Lee said three people are being interviewed regarding the girl's disappearance, which he would not immediately characterize as a kidnapping.
