While they try to form words to discuss the tragedy, investigators tell KCAL9's Suraya Fadel that the fire is suspicious. They are tight-lipped she says, but sheriff's deputies and homicide and arson detectives have been at the apartment all day.

The fire broke out Friday morning at the family's Apple Valley apartment on Broken Bow road.

Neighbors identified the deceased as Bradley Dingham and they called him "a little bundle of joy and full of life."

He was airlifted to a hospital in Burbank where he died.

Witnesses describe hearing smoke alarms go off and the cries of a mother screaming for help.

One neighbor said he tried to fight the flames with an extinguisher. He also tells Fadel that when he entered the room, Dingham''s crib was engulfed in flames.
