Disneyland Prepares To Open New 'Star Tours' Attraction

ANAHEIM (CBS) — Disneyland previewed a new, 3-D version of its popular "Star Tours" attraction to 2,000 lucky fans Friday.

The new 3-D ride is based on the "Star Wars" films and will take guests to multiple destinations from the movies as they interact with the famous characters.

'Star Tours – The Adventures Continue' will open to the public on June 3, but CBS2's Kirk Hawkins got a sneak peak Friday morning. The attraction previously opened May 20 at Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park in Lake Buena Vista, Fl.

The original 'Star Tours' debuted at Disneyland in 1989 and was closed last year so Imagineers could work on a new attraction.

The new ride features over 50 variations so guests have the potential to experience a new different attraction every time.
