Mistrial Declared For Man Accused Of Killing Former Radio Host

LONG BEACH (AP) — A Long Beach judge has declared a mistrial for a man charged with killing a former Denver radio host.

The Long Beach Press-Telegram says the mistrial for Harvey Morrow was declared Tuesday after a prosecution witness unexpectedly provided new evidence.

However, the 60-year-old Morrow will be retried on a charge of murder committed for financial gain and faces life in prison without parole life if convicted.

He's been jailed since his arrest in 2006.

Morrow is charged with shooting Steven B. Williams, who was a popular Denver radio host in the early 1980s. Williams later resettled in Orange County.

His decomposed body was found off Catalina Island in 2006.

Prosecutors say Williams was shot after discovering that Morrow had looted $2 million from his trust fund.
