Armed Robbers Steal Cash, Tequila, Cigars In Tustin, Costa Mesa

TUSTIN (CBS) — Police say two robbers are at large after robbing two Orange County liquor stores armed with a shotgun, taking money, tequila and cigars.

Investigators say the suspects went to two businesses near the Costa Mesa (55) Freeway in Tustin and Costa Mesa, robbing them within a half-hour.

The first robbery was reported at a liquor store in the 150 block of North Tustin Street at about 8:10 p.m. Tuesday, where two men – one armed with a shotgun – escaped with an undisclosed amount of money, Tustin police said.

The second robbery occurred at a deli in the 600 block of West Baker Street in Costa Mesa, about 25 minutes later, according to Costa Mesa police Sgt. Matt Grimmond said.

The suspects in the Costa Mesa robbery, who also pulled a shotgun, matched the descriptions given from the Tustin robbery. At this robbery, the suspects stole an undisclosed amount of money, a bottle of tequila and cigars before they fled.

There were no injuries in either robbery.

The men wore black clothes, hooded sweatshirts and covered their faces with masks or bandanas. They were seen driving a dark-colored car, possibly a black Toyota Camry.
