Man Involved In Domestic Dispute Shot By Police

LONG BEACH (AP) — Long Beach police say an officer shot and wounded a 20-year-old man involved in a domestic dispute.

Sgt. Rico Fernandez said Sunday the officer was dispatched to a home late Saturday on a report of couple fighting.

What prompted the officer to open fire was not disclosed, but Fernandez says the man was uncooperative. It’s unclear if he was armed.

City News Service reports the wounded man is hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. His name has not been released.

There is nothing in this report that tells me anything except that there was a dispute and an officer opened fire. Lets get some more information before you waste this space reporting

Learning to control one’s temper usually does not come at such an early age in life. Sometimes learning to control one’s temper comes with a price.

  3. Edgar says:

Yeah Russ, but the price here being shot (and maybe killed) by a trained peace officer seems excessive over a couple fighting, doncha think? What is wrong with using the baton on the moron if he is being uncooperative or tazing and peppering if he shows signs of combativeness? Why the gun Russ? Seems like a panicky cop to me unless the guy had a knife or gun.

    1. AJ Morgan says:

Depends Edgar, was he beating his woman, threatening her with a knife, did he try to kill her? If so, the fool needed to be shot with a good dose of 9mil worth of reality. Too many times abusive men who aren’t put in check end up seriously hurting their supposed loved one. Or worse…

define trained? Like the 10 criminal cops in a month period in san diego?

  4. Brent says:

“What prompted the officer to open fire was not disclosed” Hmmm I wonder why it is not being disclosed! Come on people! If he did something the right way they there would be full disclosure!

  5. CoosControl says:

That’s exactly what Edgar’s trying to say AJ! just like you say it Depends!

  6. swhitS says:

Too many gun happy cops whilst the public are being conned into giving up their rights to protect themselves from clown like these.

Really bad reporting here – AGAIN!

  7. Cathy W says:

Come on people!! If this man was uncooperative to the wife and also to the cop, a baton, taser, or even the non use of his weapon was this person going to listen? He was out of control and talking, taseing, baton waving or even leaving was not going to help!! I work for a lawyer and man you should hear and see the cases in court especially about domestic violence. Unbelievable!!!

  8. puro pedo says:
