SANTA CLARITA (CBS) — A Newhall man involved in a solo-vehicle crash on a Santa Clarita road died early Saturday morning.

Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Efflandt says 28-year-old Luis Gonsalez was fatally injured when his Ford Explorer went off Sierra Highway about a mile south of Newhall Road, hit an embankment and rolled several times.

The accident happened about 1:30 a.m., according to Efflandt.

Deputies at the sheriff’s Santa Clarita station were investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
