Famed Singer Etta James Hospitalized In Southern California
RIVERSIDE (CBS) — Singer Etta James, who suffers from leukemia and dementia, has been hospitalized, it was reported Friday.
James was admitted to an undisclosed hospital earlier this week to treat a urinary tract infection and sepsis, her son, Sametto James, told The Press-Enterprise newspaper.
The 73-year-old singer was expected to remain hospitalized for "as long as it takes to clear her infections," her son said.
James has performed various genres, including rock 'n' roll, R&B, jazz and gospel.
She is best known for her renditions of "At Last," "All I Could Do Was Cry" and "I'd Rather Go Blind."
