Female Friend Of Actor Tom Sizemore Is Missing

LOS ANGELES (CBS) —  "Saving Private Ryan" actor Tom Sizemore has provided Los Angeles police with a "preliminary statement" regarding the disappearance of a 25-year-old woman who his manager described Thursday as a friend.

"Mr. Sizemore has provided us with a preliminary statement in the missing-persons case," said Los Angeles police Detective Carmine Sasso of the Missing-Persons Section.

Megan Lacy Wren was last seen about 3 p.m. March 31 near Vermont Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard in the Westlake area, police said.

"The family is very concerned about her unexplained disappearance, especially given the fact that she has a serious medical condition and is in need of medical care," police said in a statement.

TMZ.com described Wren as Sizemore's girlfriend and reported she had been living with the actor for six months before her disappearance. But Sizemore's manager and publicist, Charles Lago, said Wren was not the actor's girlfriend.

"She's a girl he's known for a long, long time, but she's not Tom's girlfriend," Lago said. "She used to live in the same building. ... He tried to help her."

The missing woman's father, Bill Wren, told reporters she lived with Sizemore and had been working as his assistant.

"He just indicated that he didn't know where she was," Wren told reporters.

"He had taken her to the hospital... She left the hospital and showed back up at his house. And from there I don't know where she went."

Wren says his daughter has struggled with a drug addiction and was recently hospitalized for a serious staph infection.

Sizemore -- who has appeared in numerous movies, including "Black Hawk Down  -- has spent a good deal of time in courtrooms in recent years.

Last May 28, he was arrested in the Mount Olympus area on an outstanding narcotics warrant out of Bakersfield. In 2007, he was sentenced to prison for violating probation in a drug case. In 2003, he was convicted of hitting his then-girlfriend, Heidi Fleiss.

Last year, he appeared in the VH1 series "Celebrity Rehab" with Dr. Drew Pinsky and "Sober House," about three years after he starred in an unscripted series on the same channel titled "Shooting Sizemore," which dealt with his attempts to regain his career after struggles with addiction.

Wren is 5 feet 1, 110 pounds, white, with light complexion, brown hair and brown eyes.
