Padilla Saves Kuroda To Give Dodgers 2-0 Win Over Bucs

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Hiroki Kuroda allowed just three hits over seven innings and the Los Angeles Dodgers edged the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-0 on Wednesday night.

Kuroda (4-3) struck out eight and walked three as the Dodgers won back-to-back games for the first time in three weeks.

Jerry Sands had an RBI double for Los Angeles, which hadn't posted consecutive victories on the road since taking two games from the San Diego Padres in early April.

Matt Guerrier worked the eighth and Vicente Padilla gave up a two-out double in the ninth before finishing the four-hitter for his third save.

Pittsburgh's Paul Maholm (1-5) remained winless against the Dodgers, one of three National League teams he has never beaten.

The Pirates have lost two straight to slip below .500 at 18-19.
