Former King Criticized For Backing Same-Sex Marriage

TORONTO (CBS/AP) — Sean Avery’s support for same-sex marriage has drawn fire from hockey agent Todd Reynolds.

The vice president of Uptown Sports Management tweeted that he was “very sad to read Sean Avery’s misguided support of same-gender ‘marriage.’ Legal or not, it will always be wrong.”

The New York Rangers’ agitator stated his support for same-sex marriage in a video that is part of the New Yorkers for Marriage Equality campaign, organized by gay-rights organization Human Rights Campaign.

After his initial tweet, Reynolds subsequently issued several more, saying that he believes in the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman and is not biased toward gays.

Ontario-based Uptown Sports’ hockey clients include Chris Neil, Cody McCormick and Mike Fisher.

Avery played for the Los Angeles Kings from 2003 to 2007.

Buh bye, Todd. Watch your business go down the drain.

I believe he will get MORE business. There is a reason why Californians voted to change our constitution to define marriage as between a man and a woman.

Samuel, one question about your post:

If Californians voted to take away the rights of left handed people would that make it OK? Learn the purpose of The Bill of Rights.

  • Duh!

Why is this surprising to anyone?
Avery is an agitator. It even says so in the article.

Yeah an “agitator” like Martin Luther King and the Freedom Riders were “agitators” for pressing for civil rights in the 60s. Funny you use the same term the southern bigots used then to describe those guys.

Karen 1, LA Guy 0. But it’s early yet.

Just because people do not agree to gay marriage (such as the majority of Californians), does not mean they are bigots.

I believe in equal employment opportunities ( the BEST PERSON for the job) and chastise hate crimes.

I do not agree to gay marriage. Neither two men nor two women can procreate. It is that simple to me because that proves that being gay IS NOT THE SAME as being a different race or religion.

We already have civil unions in CA. If you don’t like that, move to Iowa.
