LOS ANGELES (CBS) — About 1,200 Los Angeles Department of Water and Power customers were left in the dark Friday after an explosion in an underground vault in the Mid-Wilshire area.

The explosion happened about 2:15 p.m. in an underground vault near Olympic Boulevard and Ridgeley Drive, LADWP spokeswoman Gale Harris said.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation.

    wow, there are meth labs blowing up all over the city. why, just yesterday, a senior citizens home in Long Beach exploded. at first, they said it was natural gas or methane or something silly like that. then, the truth came out that it was indeed a EXPLOSIVE METH LAB! who regulates these damn meth labs anyway? something should be done, they’re dangerous.
