Toast Mom With A Homemade Hawaiian Breakfast

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — Executive Chef Chris George of Roy's Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine put a spin on traditional French Toast Friday when he visited the KCAL 9 studios.

George showed viewers how to make his tasty King's Hawaiian French Toast. (recipe below)

King's Hawaiian French Toast
Black Pepper Bacon, Pineapple Guava Yogurt, Mango
For the French Toast:
3ea Slices of King's Hawaiian Bread
4ea Eggs
¼ C Milk
2tsp Cinnamon
1tsp Nutmeg

Whisk eggs, milk, cinnamon, and nutmeg together in a bowl. Dip each slice into the egg wash and place onto hot sauté pan or griddle. Grill each side until golden brown and cut end to end to form triangles.

For the Bacon:
4ea Bacon, sliced
1T Black Pepper, course ground

Preheat the oven to 400 F. Line a baking pan with parchment paper.
Arrange bacon slices on parchment paper. Sprinkle with black pepper. Bake for 10 minutes.
Remove from oven and immediate transfer bacon slices onto paper towels.

For the Yogurt:
16oz Yogurt, lowfat, plain
½ C Pineapple, diced
½ C Guava, puree
¼ C Mango, diced
Place all ingredients into the blender and blend on high until smooth.

Garnishes:
Pineapple
Honeydew Melon
Mango
Green Grape
Granola
Orchids
Nasturtium
