Transient Accused In Culver City Slaying Of Woman, Elderly Man

CULVER CITY (CBS) — A transient was in custody Thursday for allegedly murdering a woman and an elderly man in Culver City, police said.

Zackariah Lehnen, 30, knew the victims, but the exact relationship was not disclosed by police.

Officers were called to the residence in the 4000 block of Huron Avenue near Washington Boulevard around 10 a.m. Tuesday after the bodies were discovered inside the elderly man's home, Culver City police Lt. Milton McKinnon said.

The victims were identified as 89-year-old Lucien Bergez and 27-year-old Erica Escobar of Santa Monica, said Assistant Chief Ed Winter of the coroner's office.
