Firefighters Knock Down 5-Acre Grass Fire In Sunland

SUNLAND (CBS) — A grass fire broke out in Sunland Monday afternoon, briefly threatening an apartment complex.

The blaze broke out in an empty lot behind an apartment complex at 1111 N. Tujunga Canyon Blvd. at 2:02 p.m. and blackened about 5 1/2 acres before being brought under control, according to the city fire department.

One firefighter suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
