Lakers Plan To Donate $25K+ For Tornado Victims

EL SEGUNDO (CBS)  — The Los Angeles Lakers announced Friday they will donate $25,000 plus proceeds of all auctions at Staples Center during the Western Conference semifinals to the American Red Cross fund to assist in the relief efforts for victims of the storms that struck the South this week.

Items to be auctioned include autographed Lakers memorabilia including one-of-a-kind game-worn memorabilia; framed pictures and basketballs from Lakers championship teams; jerseys and basketballs.

The Lakers are encouraging fans to help those in need by donating to the Red Cross. Donations can be made on the organization's website, redcross.org, calling (800) Red Cross or texting the word "Redcross" to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
