LANCASTER (CBS) — The California Highway Patrol would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the hit-and-run death of a 55-year-old man on the 14 Freeway.

The victim was heading east on the northbound 14 Freeway south of Avenue K when he was struck by a vehicle at 8:55 p.m. Sunday, CHP officer T. Shields said.

The man died at the scene, Shields said. His name was not released, pending notification of his relatives.

Anyone with information was asked to contact the CHP at (661) 948-8541.
