Gomez Celebrates 1st Easter As LA Archdiocese Leader

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Archbishop Jose H. Gomez Sunday will celebrate his first Easter mass as leader of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

The service is expected to begin at 10 a.m. at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels downtown.

During the Mass of the Resurrection of Our Lord, Gomez will bless parishioners with Easter holy water after they have renewed their baptismal promises.

Additional Easter Masses are scheduled for the cathedral at 12:30 p.m. (Spanish) and 2:30 p.m. (bilingual).
