Authorities Nab 3rd Suspect In String Of Armed Robberies

MORENO VALLEY (CBS) — A third suspect in a series of armed robberies that occurred across Riverside and San Bernardino counties has been arrested, a sheriff’s sergeant said Saturday.

A Special Enforcement Team arrested 28-year-old Robert Renteria at a home in the 12000 block of Gorham Street in Moreno Valley on April 21, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Alfonso Campa said.

Campa said Renteria and two others are suspected in over 20 armed robberies. Details of the robberies were not released.

Renteria is being held at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on $750,000 bail. He is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
