Toddler Hospitalized After Nearly Drowning In Northridge Pool

NORTHRIDGE (CBS) — A toddler was hospitalized Thursday after he nearly drowned in a backyard swimming pool.

Firefighters responded to a call from the 8700 block of Corbin Avenue just before 8:30 a.m.

Paramedics helped restore the boy's breathing before he was airlifted to a hospital, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Rich Matheney said.

The circumstances of the near-drowning were under investigation.

The boy's mother was at the residence, and the child was out of the water when firefighters arrived, Matheney said.
