Facebook Rolls Out Revamped Safety Tips For Teens
MENLO PARK (CBS) — Facebook is trying to win the trust of parents with new tools designed to help keep their kids safe online.
Tuesday, the site rolled out a revamped Family Safety Center, an online resource for teachers and parents where parents can find tips on Facebook safety and privacy, even if they don't have a Facebook account of their own.
"We've talked to parents about some of the key issues that -- that they have," says Facebook Chief Privacy Officer Joe Sullivan. "Should I be friends with my kids on Facebook? Should I require their password? How should I talk to them about Facebook?"
A downloadable guide to Facebook in the classroom on the way as well.
As of January 2011, Facebook has more than 600 million active users.
