LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Former "Two and a Half Men" star Charlie Sheen went before a Los Angeles judge Tuesday seeking custody of his twin sons with estranged wife Brooke Mueller, who also attended the closed hearing.

KNX 1070's John Brooks reports.

No resolution was immediately announced. Sheen left the courthouse flanked by security and was on his way to catch a plane to Washington, DC, for a performance of his stage show. Mueller emerged from court smiling and hugged her attorney but declined to comment.

Attorneys for both sides also refused to divulge details of the hearing.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Hank Goldberg sealed the hearing at the request of Mueller's attorney, saying it was "in the best interest of the children" because of "questions of abuse and other inflammatory and emotional issues."

Sheen and Mueller finalized their divorce months ago, but it does not become official until May 2. She has reportedly checked back into rehab in recent days.

Meanwhile, Sheen's $100 million breach of contract lawsuit against Warner Brothers Studios and "Two and a Half Men" creator Chuck Lorre is expected to be heard in a Santa Monica courtroom.

The suit also seeks pay for employees who were not paid for eight episodes that were scrapped after Sheen was fired.

Sheen flew cross-country for the hearings and is scheduled to fly back in time to perform in his stage show in Washington on Tuesday night.
