Police Identify 4 Killed After Truck Crashes Into Tree

LA HABRA (CBS/AP) — Police say four people were killed and two injured when a pick-up truck that may have been speeding through a residential neighborhood in La Habra went out of control and crashed into a tree.

La Habra police Sgt. Jeff Baylos says the fatal accident happened shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday.

Four were pronounced dead at the scene: David Huizar, Jr., 22, of La Habra; Jimmy Alonzo Gonzales, 22, of Buena Park; Paul Romero, 25, of Fullerton; and Delora Bravo, 22, of La Habra.

Two La Habra residents, 25-year-old Destiney Mendoza and 21-year-old Rochelle Romero, were hospitalized in critical condition.

All six passengers were originally trapped inside the black Chevy Colorado and emergency rescue crews extracted the two survivors using the "jaws of life".

Police are investigating whether alcohol was involved and say that they suspect the vehicle was going faster than the posted speed limit -- 25 miles per hour.
