1 Dead, 1 Critical In Westmont Shooting Attack

SOUTHWEST LOS ANGELES (CBS)  — One man was fatally shot and another man was critically wounded during an early morning shooting attack  in the unincorporated Westmont area of Southwest Los Angeles, a sheriff's sergeant said.

The shooting occurred about 4:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of West 95th Street, said sheriff's Sgt. Diane Hecht.

Paramedics rushed both men to an area hospital, where one was pronounced dead and the second was listed in critical, but stable condition, Hecht said.

The sheriff's sergeant said homicide detectives were conducting an investigation.
