The shelter, located in Camarillo, is competing against 93 other facilities nationwide in the “Save More Lives $100K Challenge.”
The competition is driven by e-mail votes and social networking sites like Facebook. As of Thursday at 2 p.m., Ventura County Animal Services ranked 30th. If the shelter remains in the top 50 after voting ends, their next challenge will be to adopt out the most pets in order to win.
Voting began April 4 and ends at 9 p.m. Thursday.
