Toronto Blue Jays File Suit Against Canadian Government

OTTAWA (AP) -- The Toronto Blue Jays are seeking nearly a half-million dollars from the Canadian government after being forced to shift a series last year because of the G-20 summit.

The Canadian Press reported Thursday that the Blue Jays filed a claim for $470,854. The high-level, high-security meetings last June made the Blue Jays move a three-game set against the Phillies from Toronto to Philadelphia.

The shift spoiled the keenly anticipated return of pitcher Roy Halladay.

The Blue Jays had traded him to Philadelphia during the offseason.
