‘Everyday Advocate’ Areva Martin Discusses Autism Awareness Month

STUDIO CITY (KCAL9) — Autism is a complex developmental disability that typically appears during the first three years of life and affects a person’s ability to communicate and interact with others.

Autism Advocate Areva Martin stopped by KCAL9 to talk about what’s happening during Autism Awareness Month (April).

Martin’s book, “The Everyday Advocate,” hits bookstore shelves on April 5th.

Her non-profit organization, The Special Needs Network, has organized the largest free autism conference in South Los Angeles. The event will bring together more than 1500 parents and professionals for a two day event from April 15th – April 16th.
