Singer Prince To Begin 21-Night Residency In LA

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Singer Prince is set to begin his 21-night residency in Los Angeles, with his first appearance scheduled for Thursday at the Los Angeles Forum.

"You know he's not gonna give you that many opportunities to go see him in this huge, mainstream setting," Los Angeles Times music writer Gerrick Kennedy said.

Kennedy told KNX 1070 Newsradio that roughly 85 percent of tickets are $25.

"If you want to be up close and personal, obviously there are platinum packages which are running 5/6/700 dollars. And then there are of course, the lower lodge seats, which are $179. So a pretty penny, but I mean he did make 85 percent of his tickets 25 bucks," Kennedy added.

Prince has previously done residency-style concerts in New York, the Carolinas, as well as in Oakland, Calif. He has yet to announce who's appearing with him in LA.
