Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (April 11)

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — The work week is off to a cool start with temperatures running slightly below average for this time of year.

A broad trough in the Pacific will slowly move east through Wednesday. Watch for thickening low clouds over the next few days. By Wednesday, it could be deep enough to squeeze out some patchy drizzle.

There will also be some localized gusty winds below our passes and canyons. By Thursday, a ridge of high pressure moves in and sets up a decent off-shore flow. That's going to translate into a nice warm weekend, as well as a warm start to next week.

Temperatures will top out in the low 80s.

Coastal - mid 60s
Basin - upper 60s
Valleys - low 70s
Deserts - low 70s
Mountains - low 50s
