Suspected Shooter Barricades Himself Inside South LA Building

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A man who allegedly shot someone Friday afternoon in South Los Angeles barricaded himself inside a nearby building, police said.

The shooting occurred around 12:30 p.m. at 74th Street and Broadway, said Richard French of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police tried to detain the suspect, but he fled into a building, French said.

“The SWAT team was called in around 1:50 p.m. to deal with the barricade situation,” French said.

He said it was unknown whether the suspect was inside a home or a business. The condition of the shooting victim was unavailable.

    Let’s see how long the LAPD dances with this loser before engaging. They want to make sure they don’t violate anyone’s civil rights.
