Former Executive Gets 16 Months In Prison For Insider Trading

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A former executive for an investor relations firm has been sentenced in Los Angeles to prison for an insider trading scheme that generated nearly $2 million in illegal profits.

Federal prosecutors say 40-year-old Zachary Bryant of New York was sentenced Monday to 16 months in prison. He pleaded guilty last year to conspiring to commit insider trading.

Investigators says Bryant was the vice president in the Los Angeles office of the Lippert Heilshorn & Associates when he took $30,000 brines in exchange for providing confidential information on publicly traded companies.
