Former Deputy Gets 20 Years For Soliciting Bribes, Sexual Favors
VICTORVILLE (AP) — A former San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for soliciting bribes and sexual favors from women he stopped.
The Victorville Daily Press says 33-year-old Matthew Linderman was sentenced Wednesday to the maximum term. He was convicted last month of more than a dozen criminal counts that included sexual battery and soliciting a bribe.
Prosecutors say that Linderman solicited sexual favors and bribes from nearly a dozen women he detained from 2005 to 2007.
Authorities say that in exchange for leniency, he asked some women to show their breasts and took photographs.
