Rookie Walden Saves Angels' First Game

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (CBS/AP) -- Jered Weaver won his second consecutive start, Torii Hunter and Alberto Callaspo both had two RBIs and the Los Angeles Angels beat the winless Tampa Bay Rays 5-3 Tuesday night.

Weaver (2-0), the Angels' opening day starter, allowed one run and three hits in 6 2-3 innings. It is the first time since his rookie season in 2006 that he has started a year with consecutive victories.

Hank Conger hit his first career home run, connecting against Jeff Niemann (0-1). The defending AL East champion Rays fell to 0-4.

Jordan Walden collected his first career save as an Angel as hewent 1-2-3 in the ninth.
