David Hasselhoff Hopes To Help Find Missing 24-Year-Old Woman With Epilepsy

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — She's been gone for nearly a week. There have been some sightings...but nothing terribly concrete.

And that has friends and family of 24-year-old Tanya Fielding, beyond concerned.

And one of those friends is a celebrity. David Hasselhoff of "Baywatch" and "Knight Rider" fame ...he plays something of a hero on the small screen.

He's hoping his celebrity can shed light on this story and get the sister of his friend back home where she belongs.

Fielding disappeared last week after a fight with her sister, Samantha.

Her sister told KCAL 9's Rita Garcia Monday that her sister, an epileptic, is in desperate need of her meds and that she left home without them. Her sister, she says, also has the mental capacity of a 15-year-old and she's hoping she is not some place confused or disoriented.

A street performer saw Tanya Tuesday and said he did believe she was acting disoriented. That is only making her family and friends all the more worried. "I haven't slept since Tuesday," said her sister.

Hasselhoff tweeted Tuesday, "If you are in LA, please re-tweet this."
