The answer is simple. Eliminate the car pool lanes. Create one trucks only lane for trucks with 8 or more wheels. Reduce the speed limit for the trucks only lane to 45 mph. If the car pool lane is eliminated more ciars can travel in more lanes thus speeding up traffic. If you live in California you have all seen 18 wheelers driving in all lanes up to 90 miles per hour or trying to pass at 25 mph. The CHP doesn’t seem to care. Let’s get it together. Let’s revamp laws and revisit traffic flows. This isnot the 1980’s. Car pooling is a farce and blatantly uninforced. As it stands now grandma and her Poodle can drive in the car pool lanes at 25 miles an hour. Let’s get our traffic flow into 2011.

From what I heard last night that woke me up it occurred abot 1:10 – 1:20 AM not 2:20

Yes, it happened at about 1:30 am. The truck was engulfed in flames– it was horrible to see. We passed it right after it happened. I thought there were firemen there where all the stuff was spilled but I was wrong — I must’ve been just seeing debris and no EMS was there yet. It was nowhere near the carpool lane. The truck that was in flames was perpendicular to the lanes of traffic. Prayers to the family for their loss.
