Customs Agent Charged With Rape For Alleged Off-Duty Attack

WESTMINSTER (CBS) — A U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent has been charged with rape and other sex counts for an alleged off-duty attack.

Miguel Lerma Jr., 31, of Fountain Valley, is charged with rape, forced sodomy, forced oral copulation and rape by use of drugs, according to court records.

Lerma, who was arrested last Thursday, is scheduled to be arraigned Monday afternoon at the West Justice Center in Westminster.

Lerma is accused of picking up a 20-year-old woman on Harbor Boulevard on Nov. 14 and sexually assaulting her.

Authorities allege that DNA evidence links Lerma to the attack and to another unrelated case in Long Beach in 2009.
