BURBANK (AP) — A 14-month-old girl left in an unattended car in a Costco parking during triple-digit heat has been released to her mother.
The Los Angeles Times said Sunday that the girl, who was not hurt, was turned over to her mother hours after the incident Thursday.
The 38-year-old father, Edik Magardomyan, was arrested Thursday afternoon in Burbank on suspicion of child endangerment. He was released that same day on $100,000 bail. No charges had been filed against him as of Friday.
Burbank police Sgt. Robert Quesada says officers found the little girl asleep and sweating as temperatures hit 115 degrees inside the vehicle.
The windows were slightly open and officers were able to remove the child.
Police said the girl was inside the hot car for at least 15 minutes.
