Mack Takes Butler To Another Title Game

HOUSTON (AP) -- Shelvin Mack wasn't daunted by playing on college basketball's biggest stage.

After all, this was nothing new for Butler.

Mack scored 24 points, including 10 straight in a key second-half run, and the Bulldogs beat Virginia Commonweatlth 70-62 on Saturday night for their second straight trip to the title game.

The junior seemed perfectly comfortable from the start, then stepped up in the second half when most of his team was struggling on offense. Butler led by one before Mack outscored VCU 10-4 in just over 2 minutes to stretch the lead to 54-47.

Of course, the Mack didn't do it alone, with the Bulldogs getting 17 points from Matt Howard to give America's favorite underdogs another shot at the national championship.
